Shri B. N. Thakur is a seasoned steel industry professional with over 35 years of extensive experience across the complete value chain of steel manufacturing. He superannuated as Executive Director of Steel Authority of India Ltd.( SAIL), where he made significant contributions towards operational excellence.
Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held key leadership roles in both operations and management. He has been instrumental in the commissioning and stabilization of critical steelmaking facilities, including steel refining units and continuous casting shops (slab casters) at SAIL.
His expertise spans production management, materials planning, and process optimization, ensuring efficient and sustainable operations.
As General Manager (Steel) at IISCO, Burnpur, he led departmental functions and played a pivotal role in the erection and commissioning of BOF (Basic Oxygen Furnace) and CCP (billet caster) units, along with strategic planning of spares and materials to support seamless operations.
Recognized for his consistent high performance, Shri Thakur has a strong track record of exceeding organizational targets and delivering operational excellence. His leadership, technical acumen, and commitment to continuous improvement have made him a respected figure in the industry.
